“Let’s talk about Dis-Othering ” ist eine Gesprächsreihe, die in Graz, Linz, Wien und St. Pölten innerhalb des Creative Europe Projektes „Dis-Othering – Beyond Afropolitan and other Labels“ stattfindet.

Künstler_innen, Kurator_innen und Vertreter_innen von Kulturinstitutionen treten in einen Dialog über kulturelle Identität und bestehende Prozesse des „Otherings“ in europäischen Kulturinstitutionen.
Let’s talk about Dis-Othering #2 wird in Kooperation zwischen kulturen in bewegung, Stadtwerkstatt und oö. Gesellschaft für Kulturpolitik organisiert und findet innerhalb des African Futurisms Festival, kuratiert von Sandra Krampelhuber, statt.

Diese Veranstaltung findet im Rahmen des Creative Europe Projektes “Dis-Othering – beyond Afropolitan & other labels“ statt, das vorherrschenden Praktiken des „Otherings“ in europäischen Kulturinstitutionen entgegenwirkt. Das Projekt umfasst  eine Ausstellung, Symposien, Festivals, Diskussionsrunden, Performances, ein Residency-Programm sowie eine Sammlung zu Diversitätsfragen in europäischen Kulturinstitutionen und einem Webauftritt.

“Let’s talk about Dis-Othering” is a series of talks taking place in Graz, Linz, Vienna and St. Pölten within the Creative Europe collaborative project “Dis-Othering – Beyond Afropolitan and other Labels”.
Artists, curators and representatives of cultural institutions will revolve around the topic of cultural identity and contemporary processes of “Othering” in cultural institutions.

Let’s talk about Dis-Othering #2 will be organized in cooperation with Stadtwerkstatt and OÖ Gesellschaft für Kulturpolitik and takes place within the African Futurisms Festival, curated by Sandra Krampelhuber.

This initiative is part of “Dis-Othering Beyond Afropolitan & other labels” a Creative Europe collaborative project on the necessary deconstruction of ‘othering’ practices in European cultural institutions.
The project consists of an exhibition, symposia, a festival, talks and performances, a residency program, mapping research, and a website..
